• Jamie submitted a grant to the DC Arts Commission to help defray the costs of a professionally-printed catalogue for his new series "Provocations." Look for the catalogue to be done in late 2003.

• One of Jamie's pieces was selected for the Corcoran Museum of Art's Corner Views Gallery in January 2003 and also was included in 2003 WPA/ Corcoran's Artist Directory.

• District West Fine Arts in Leesburg, Virginia, has agreed to represent Jamie's work. It has been fun working with Ruth Robertson, an excellent artist herself. The gallery's site is www.districtwestart.com

• Coming off two critically acclaimed solo shows in 2002, Olga Viso, Curator for Contemporary Art at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC, invited Jamie to submit slides for review by the curatorial committee. Very exciting.

• Jamie's solo show at the Fraser Gallery (www.frasergallery.com) in October generated a lot of positive criticism. Bill Dunlap on the PBS show "Around Town" stated: Jamie is "one of the finest craftsmen I've ever seen." (Check out the press page for more reviews.) Kate and Lenny, the owners of the Fraser Gallery and good friends, agreed to host Jamie's wedding rehearsal reception when the show was up.

• In October 2002, Jamie was the featured artist in the CultureFlux Gallery (www.cultureflux.com) on the Internet.

• The New Light Gallery (www.newlightgallery.com) in Abingdon, Virginia, agreed to represent Jamie and his solo show in June was a big success. Andrea, the owner, went all out and Jamie felt like a rock star at the opening. Abingdon is a great artistic town and well worth a visit.

• Jamie was nominated for the 2002 Whitney Biennial.

• The 20 North Gallery in Toledo, Ohio, agreed to represent Jamie in 2001, include his work in tours of regional museums and host a solo show of Jamie's work in Spring 2002. Being Jamie's hometown, he is very excited about this new gallery affiliation.

• Be sure to catch two videos of interviews with Jamie Wimberly on the Interview page.

• "Thresher" was sold over Sotheby's auction site. More work can be seen and bought on Sotheby's Auction Site.
